No, you do not need to be in North Carolina. You can accept our offer, sign the documents by mail or by remote online notarization, and receive your funds by wire transfer, all from wherever you are. Many of our relocation sellers have already moved before closing.

Three ways to sign from a distance

We can FedEx the closing documents to your address, and you sign in front of a local notary, a UPS Store, a bank, sometimes a library, then send them back. Or you can use remote online notarization, a video call where a notary watches you sign digital documents. Or you can grant power of attorney to a spouse, attorney or trusted family member to sign on your behalf.

Funds are wired to your bank account on the closing date. There is no physical check to wait around for.

The situations this covers

Out-of-state heirs are the most common. When siblings live in three different states, we can do remote closings by mail-and-notary or remote online notarization, each heir signing in their own state, with funds wired at closing. Nobody flies back to North Carolina.
